New World Group is a large enterprise group established in 1970 by Dr. Cheng Yu-tung, and is now a constituent stock of the benchmark Hang Seng Index. The NW Group began its business in Shenyang and taken part in the economic and urban development construction since 1993 and in the same year the New World Hotel was invested as the first foreign-related four-star hotel in Shenyang. In 1994, New World Department Store was invested as one of the high-end department stores even now in Shenyang. In 1998, the New World China Land (Shenyang) Limited was established and the Shenyang New World Garden project was developed. In 2007, the New World Shenyang Convention and Exhibition Centre Project was started.

Location: NWSYCEC has a superior geographic location and is located at the southern starting point of Shenyang Golden Corridor—Qingnian Street. Of which the south side borders the Hunhe River, the west side faces Shenshuiwan Park and New World Garden large residential area, the north side is closed to Wanxin Plaza from the 2nd Ring Road, and the east side is next to the Qingnian Street Station of Subway Line 2, NWSYCEC will be the landmark facing Shenyang city entrance.

The NWSYCEC project covers 196 thousand sq m with the overall floorage of 1.32 million sq m. Being designed to be one of the largest city complexes nationwide, the project includes exhibition centre, retail, hotels, apartments, office buildings and entertainment place. With the Hunhe river on the south, the Exhibition Centre façade echoes the water with the implied meaning that a soaring roc, which means the flourish of Shenyang city.

Exhibition Centre: Of which the floorage is 100 thousand sq m, the Exhibition Centre includes a oversized detached display hall covers 20 thousand sq m and a small multifunctional display hall, which is available for display, speech and convention, covers 3.9 thousand sq m, and a large banquet hall can accommodate 1150 persons and a small banquet can accommodate 780 persons are also included.

The two buildings will be the landmark facing Shenyang North Entrance in the near future.

Besides, the entertainment centre includes rink, arcade games field, simulation gunfight site, KTV, Children Experience Act Park, Urban Grange, Sport and Art museums and sky wheel etc. The Children Experience Act Park will be the first one of this kind park in Shenyang. Urban Grange will make it possible for the city crowd to enjoy the pastoral pleasures such as planting and picking without leaving the city. The Sport and Art Museum can hold the small and medium-sized games and stylistic performing activities, of which the floorage is 20 thousand sq m and includes the indoor stadium can hold 4000 persons, Multi-purpose stadium, gymnasium, spa, dynamic sport and art venue, squash court and many other kinds of fitness activity places, trying to fill in the gaps in the surrounding area.
