I. Teaching Objectives
According to the teaching material and the new curriculum of English, in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson, I establish the following objectives:
A. Knowledge objectives
By the end of the lesson, Ss will have a better understanding of the objective clause.Then Ss will grasp the usage of 3 introductory words: that、 if、whether, the tense and word order, etc.
B. Ability objectives
Enable students to identify what is the objective clause and learn to use different
kinds of introductory words
C. Affection objectives
Develop students’ interest of learning grammar.
II. Teaching important points
Explain the three important aspects of the objective clause: the introductory words, tense and sentence order. Besides, explain the usage of 3 introductory words:that, if, whether..
III.Teaching difficult points
How to choose the introductory words correctly and appropriately in the
objective clause
IV. Teaching methods
Combine the inductive method with the deductive method.
V. Teaching aids

Step 1 Greetings as usual(1min) Greet the whole class as usual. Step 2 Lead-in (5mins)
Give students several sentences and ask them to find out the sentence constituents of each sentence. Then ask them to tell me the differences of these sentences. 1. She knows you.→She knows that you are a student. 2. She likes reading. →She said that she liked reading. 3. She likes apples.→I know that she likes apples. Step 3 Presentation (25mins) 1. Definition
T: This class we are going to learn the objective clause from 3 aspects: the introductory words, tense and word order.
(1) The usage of the introductory words: that, if and whether.
A. that 的用法
a.当宾语从句是陈述句是时,由连词that引导,that在句中无意义且不做任何成分,一般可以省略。 宾语从句中不能省略that 的情况:
b. 当一个谓语动词带两个或两个以上由that引导的宾语从句时,只能省略第一个that. c. 有间接宾语时
d. 宾语从句谓语动词被其他词,插入语或从句隔开时
B.当宾语从句由一般疑问句转化而来时由if/whether引导。译为“是否”有意义但不做任何成分且不可省略。
在宾语从句中,if/whether可以互换,但在以下几种情况中if不能替换whether
注意:作介词的宾语,与or/or not 连用。 (2)宾语从句的时态
当主句是现在的某种时态时,从句根据需要可以用任何时态;当主句是过去的某种时态时,从句要用过去的某种时态;但当从句是客观事实或真理时或虚拟语气时,从句需用一般现在时。 (3) 从句的语序
宾语从句必须用陈述句语序其结构为:连接词+主语+谓语+宾语/其它
Step 4 Consolidations (10mins)
Ask students to do some exercises to consolidate what they have learned today.
Step 5 Summarizing (3mins)
Summarize what they have learned today.
Step 6 Homework (1min)
Students are required to review the learned lesson and finish the rest exercise on their
textbook.
